Jonathan Saunders London Collections Men Autumn/Winter 2013:
Kaleidoscopic wonderment! Jonathan Saunders autumn/winter 2013 show put on what felt like a full on rebellion against the dreary winter months. Expect to see the occasional splash of color as Saunders’ collection takes to select retailers. Showing his affection for prints, we saw teems of tasteful gradients (pretty sure they’d suit just about anyone), solid strips and playful geometric patterns. The color palate looked as though it was derived from starring too long at a sun catcher.
Following Saunders m.o, there was a relaxed, casual feel with polo’s paired with bombers and slim-line pants. Single-breasted blazers and jackets were constructed in a variety of fabrics, including: leather, felt wool and cotton.
And now the collection:
Finally and perhaps my least favorite of the how…the fluorescent/safety orange rubber soled footwear. It’s not that the shoes themselves, it’s the fact that they are too reminiscent of Prada and they are now simply over done. In such a vibrant collection, I think they’re out of place. Beyond that, great collection. Top notch.
